Why I Can’t Remember the Tourist Attractions from 30 Countries I’ve Visited🌸

I have traveled to around 30 countries so far.

But when I look back, I honestly don’t remember many famous tourist attractions.

What I do remember are the meals I shared at local people’s homes, the beers I drank with new friends, and the local festivals that friends took me to.

When I first started traveling, I spent most of my time visiting famous places listed in guidebooks. But somewhere along the way, my style of travel changed.

These days, I usually only book accommodation for my first night. After that, I keep my schedule flexible. I ask people I meet for recommendations and decide where to go based on the weather, my mood, and the conversations I have along the way. That’s how I’ve discovered places and experiences I never would have found on my own.

I also become a little more open when I’m overseas. I’ll eat alone, strike up conversations, or chat with people who talk to me. Sometimes those small moments lead to the most memorable experiences.

Of course, solo travel as a woman comes with risks. But I have a special safety strategy.

I wear a mask, put on a hat, and walk with slightly rounded shoulders.

For some reason, this dramatically reduces unwanted attention.

Maybe people think I’m a suspicious person.

And honestly, that’s exactly the point. haha

For me, the most interesting part of travel isn’t the scenery. It’s meeting people and experiencing everyday life in a different part of the world.
