How I Gained 15kg Overseas and Lost It All Back in Japan🌸

One of the biggest reasons I still choose to live in Japan is the food.

I’ve considered living overseas for a longer period of time, but I have yet to find another country that offers the same combination of quality, variety, and affordability that Japan does.

One thing that really surprised me was portion sizes.

In Australia, it’s very common to meet friends for breakfast at a café. It’s similar to how people in Japan might say, “Let’s grab lunch together.”

The problem was that the portions were huge.

Pancakes, muffins, smoked salmon, bacon, eggs—everything was delicious, and everything was enormous.

Before moving abroad, I was relatively slim. But after spending time overseas, I gained 15 kilograms.

Then something even more surprising happened.

After returning to Japan and simply going back to my normal Japanese diet, I gradually lost all 15 kilograms.

No more salmon.
No more pizza.
No more muffin.

I enjoyed the food culture overseas, but the experience made me appreciate Japanese food even more. The quality, variety, portion sizes, and prices are something I no longer take for granted.

Using My Overseas Experience💖

Through my experiences living overseas, I faced many challenges and learned valuable lessons.

After returning to Japan, I decided that I wanted to support others in their own journeys and challenges.

Today, I help foreigners who come to Japan on Working Holiday visas, student visas, or as visitors to start their lives here with confidence.

I provide support with city hall procedures, opening bank accounts, mobile phone contracts, job hunting, social events, and more. I also plan to continue expanding these services in the future.
